Margarita Rozenberg (Israel)
Bead Door & Twins
I am international artist born and raised in Russia, matured in Tel-Aviv, Israel and currently residing in Germany since May 2017. With a background in illustration, street art and installation I came to Germany as artist in residence in Kunstort Eleven artspace to quest over rural Swabia and find out what kind of magic it can offer. As a result, I come up with a whole bunch of nature-inspired site-specific artworks. My favorite activity in art-making is designing and installing tree installations. This is my second tree installation in this region, the first one was made on Elder tree (Hollunder) in Starzach for Summer Solistice celebration.I use fabriques and other natural materials(bones, twigs) to create simple yet diverse patterns.
I am interested in repetition when it comes to patterns for art works and how one can play with them. Traditional Chinese hanging bead doors and boho-hippie interiors inspired me to create a door to another dimension. A dimension that lies just one step away & you can get there led by imagination. The location for this tree installation was decided on immediately- I simple loved these two twin trees, growing parallely like sisters. I use red cord to bring on the image of umbillical rod, connecting Mother and child, in this case - us and Mother Nature. Animal bones from a local establishment also story-tell about my site-specific artistic practice.
